Village Inn in Alton

I wanted waffles, it wasnt on menu, and waiter said he would have cook make it for me, everything was very good, restaurant was clean, and food came very fast, reasonable price as well

The staff was very friendly. Kid friendly and small down home restaurant. Food was good nothing extravagant just feeling .

Worst food I have had in a long time. Food wasnt done all the way. It tasted freezer burnt. The gravy was watery biscuits was mushy. Will never go back.

Prices are almost fast food level, which I found crazy considering how amazing the food looked and tasted, and how big the portions are. Always love coming here ❤❤

Booo!!!!!!! $10 for corned beef and cabbage meal which is about as much as a toddler can eat. Love their breakfast, but they make up for it with this appetizer,lol.. This is not a 4 star restaurant

Good food, great prices, excellent service. The building could use a remodel but everything else is awesome!

Its wasnt as good as it usually is. Waitress wasnt on her "A" game. Soda was funky so we didnt have a drink for most of our meal. Onion rings were sour. Utensils looked spotty.

I have eaten here at the Village Inn three times in the past two weeks and I just have to say "WOW" the food and service you get at this place is absolutely amazing for the price! Their $3.49 breakfast (served all day) is huge, as are all the other items I see served to others each time I've been here. Definitely come hungry. You'll leave happy. 😊

Excellent little local diner. Maybe a little dated in appearance but can tell a lot of pride in maintaining the place is very clean. Food is typical diner food but appreciate that maybe there are no fancy dishes but what they do they do well. Had the patty melt and was one of the best I have had. Unfortunately dont live all that close we came into town to see Christmas lights but just may have to make a return trip to try breakfast.

Food was fresh and good quality. Atmosphere was not as welcoming as it could be but our service was good. Highly recommend their pancakes and spaghetti!

Big portions, great prices, fast friendly servers. We will never be back. Check out their reports from Madison county health department. Last visit I was there the restaurant was actually closed because of the amount of violations.

Very good value, eggs cooked perfectly and steak had good flavor.

A group of friends and myself gathering together to talk and catching up on things with breakfast and coffee...but always saying. A prayer over our food....first.......and asking God to bless the cook..and bless the. server and the restaurant...and ect.....openly by holding hands...These two Angeles where watching and paid for our meals...thank you so much ...and the food was great as always..

Their food is delicious & the wait staff are friendly. Breakfast is served all day I would recommend you try it. You will find they're very reasonable priced too.

Cheap prices. Food just ok. Nothing special. Biscuits not good. Crepes disappointed. Eggs were good.

I was in town staying with a friend, and we went out to breakfast with his family one morning before running some errands. It's definitely diner food, but the portions were satisfying and their whole menu is all day so I was able to couple a breakfast with some fried ravioli as a side item off their lunch menu. They also are somewhat attentive two things outside of just surfing, my friend forgot his lactose pills on the table as we were leaving and one of the bussers chased me down to make sure he got it back.

Not great. Biscuits were tasteless and the gravy leaves much to be desired. Hash browns were flavorless and barely warmed. Pancakes were on par with your average boxed mix. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality, and portions are generous, if your tastebuds can handle being bored for that long.
